Tenders (Carnival Cruise Line's own guidance)
A tender is the small boat that carries you ashore where the ship cannot dock. This is the line's responsibility, and the captain has the final call at the platform.
Carnival publishes tender/water-shuttle guidance under accessibility rather than any weight rule. To board a tender a guest must be able to take a few steps and use a collapsible/fold-up wheelchair; motorized wheelchairs and scooters cannot be taken on tenders. Crew are prohibited from carrying guests onto or off tenders. The final decision rests with the ship's captain, based on weather, swell, current, and tide. Accessible tenders may not be available at every tender port. No passenger weight figure or step count is published. per Carnival Cruise Line (verified 2026-06-15)
Read directly. Verbatim points: guests must take 'a few steps', collapsible wheelchair only, 'Safety restrictions prohibit crew from carrying individuals', 'The final determination ... is made by the captain.' Guest Access line: 1-800-438-6744 ext. 70025 / access@carnival.com.

What we could not verify (5)

- Submarine (Atlantis): no max weight or girth/hatch-width figure; only a 12-step ladder requirement and a 'not recommended for limited mobility' note.
- Shore excursions overall: NO line-wide cap; every figure is per-listing and operator-set, so limits vary by port and can change without notice.
- No garment/seat-width or waist figure for any onboard ride (only height ranges, per-person/per-vehicle weight, and harness-coverage clothing rules).
- Tenders: no published passenger weight limit or step count; boarding turns on ability to take steps and the captain's safety judgment.
